A snapshot of life...
/Life seems to be going by so quickly. Sometimes I wish I could freeze everything about life in different seasons. So in effort to remember this time, this is a little snapshot of life lately...
I've been feeling...a vast dichotomy between God's blessings and the poverty gospel. Anyone else feeling it too? I've felt a shift, a struggle for the past few months. Yes, I want to stay away from materialism and have a generous heart, but I don't think feeling bad every time I buy chocolate chip cookies (a non-nessecity) is good either.
We've been packing up...a bunch of boxes. Hold that, a million boxes. The only room that isn't in complete disarray is my office. I'm going to wait until the past possible minute to pack it up, for my sanity's sake. Still, there is a light at the end of the tunnel. By this time next week we will officially live in our new home! Yay!!!!
I've been listening... to a lot of Mumford & Sons and Mark Driscol podcasts. Combined they make a powerful duo that has gotten me through loads of editing this week. Hallelujah.
I've been learning...to invite the glory of God into the small moments of life. It's easy to forget that He's there all the time. So often I let my soul drown in the mundane. He is there in the cleaning, editing, emailing and everything else. When I acknowledge Him in those moments, everything changes. The mundane becomes glorious.
I'm excited...about the new Southern Weddings magazine. I may or may not have an image in latest issue that comes out in 18 days! :) It's just one, and will probably be small, but I'm thrilled nonetheless! :)
I've been playing...a lot of guitar. I switched from being behind the keyboard to guitar on Sundays for worship. I'm not amazing by any means, but I've enjoyed making myself get better! :) It's a little easier to move around and I like it.
I've been drinking...coffee from my french press. I'm in heaven. It is hands down the best coffee I've ever had.
We've been eating...a lot of pb&j. Packing up your kitchen isn't quite conducive for making delicious meals. I'm so ready to unload everything into our new (and not so cramped) kitchen and cook real dinners! Oh, and baking too! I've been waiting to make pumpkin bread all season. It just seemed more special to wait until we're in the new house!
I'm wishing...that it would get a little cooler down south. 80 degrees in October? Come on Mr. Weather! I'm ready to don my hats and scarves! Please stop teasing and let us have a real Autumn.
I'm thankful...for a job that fires me up. There are so many priceless moments on a wedding day - wearing a beautiful white gown, walking down the isle with your father, seeing your groom for the first time, making a lifelong commitment to another person, etc. I'm privileged to capture that, and it's an honor I don't take lightly! It's new and fresh for me every single time. Tomorrow I get to capture another beautiful day. I'm so, so thankful.
What is going on in your lives lately friends? I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!
