Love on the Sea | Sailboat Anniversary Session

I can hardly describe my excitement about sharing these images today. The ocean is so romantic to me. Every time I'm near those blue hues, they pull at my heart strings...these images do too. Maybe it's just me that thinks love is sweeter on the sea. I can't tell you how many times I've tried to convince people to go out on a boat with me. It's been a dream of mine for, I don't know, forever! Sometimes I simply must shoot because I long to create beauty in simplicity. It consumes me sometimes, the urge to make something. The frustrating thing is when you have to wait for the vision to culminate. In this case, the right couple.

After a few months it hit me that my brother and sister-in-law's first anniversary was coming up. I knew they'd be perfect! (Those poor kids are stuck with me doing their photos forever!) I really enjoy photographing couples before and after they get married. True love gets richer as the months and years go by, much like a fine wine. Before Matt and Kellie were love-sick kids, giddy about starting a life together. (We were the same way too.) Now they are two cords, bound in knots that will not be broken. The love is steadfast, built not on mere emotions, but a choice and a covenant. Though the winds howl and the tempest rages, love will stand the test of time as long as the knots remain...

I think I could live on a boat for the rest of my life.

Do you love the sea like I do? Oh, and today is also Kellie's birthday! It worked out perfectly that their post was scheduled for it! (Wink, wink!)

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend!
