Sojourner

"So if you're serious about living this new resurrection life with Christ, act like it. Pursue the things over which Christ presides. Don't shuffle along, eyes to the ground, absorbed with the things right in front of you. Look up, and be alert to what is going on around Christ—that's where the action is. See things from his perspective." - Colossians 3:1-2 | The Message Version

Shuffling my feet with my eyes are on the ground. I've been absorbed with thing right in front of me. Worries fill my heart. Small thoughts fill my mind. This is where I've been. I forget so often that this is not all to life. I'm not meant to get caught up with things here. I forget that...

I'm just a sojourner.

This isn't my home. I won't stay here forever. My life here is very brief. Before I know it my time will be over and I'll bow before my King.

So it doesn't really matter that my home isn't perfect. The fact that everything doesn't match won't matter in the end. I've got hand-me-downs and that's ok.  I'm not here to please the world. I'm here to please Him. My body is a tent - a mere earthy dwelling, so I don't need to spend time trying to look like the world. I don't have the best of the best on earth, but in eternity I have Him.

When I wake up and my feet hit the floor I need to remember...I'm just a sojourner.
