Luke & Karis | Southern Ballroom Wedding

Hello lovelies! Welcome to the refreshed site! There's nothing too different, I just feel like it fits who I am as an artist a little better. I'm eternally grateful to the beautiful and talented Kathryn Duckett for helping me achieve the timeless look I was going for! Anyway, I'm so happy to break my blogging hiatus with this gorgeous wedding! Luke and Karis had the sweetest day! It has been such a been such a pleasure to journey with them towards marriage! After so many months of planning and discussing the details, it was thrilling to see it all come together. Here is a little more about the details of the day from Karis:

The importance of family and tradition was definitely the foundation for selecting the details for our big day. I wanted every aspect to be special and have meaning. I am a love of Southern hospitality, couture elegance, vintage detailing, family and traditions, and romantic charm. I wanted to incorporate all of my loves into the wedding. I knew that with careful attention to details, it could be accomplished. Finally, I watched my dream wedding become a reality just as I had always envisioned. One of the most special elements was my veil. It was purchased by my grandmother. I'm her only grandchild and she had been talking about buying it for me for years. It was custom made in England and was cathedral-length with a detachable swavorski crystal headpiece. It was such an honor to finally wear it. I love the other sentimental details we incorporated as well, such as my mother's petite, add-a-pearl necklace that she wore on her wedding day 30 years ago. It was a gift from my dad. We also incorporated the Bible they used at their wedding. My bouquet was wrapped with the lace from my mother's wedding veil. It was also very important to us to give meaningful gifts to each other on the wedding day. I wanted to gibe Luke a personal gift that captured the quintessential charm of a true Southern gentleman, something I always said described him. What I chose was an engraved pocket watch, which is so perfectly Southern, accompanied by a leather bound anniversary journal that I plan to write him a letter in on each anniversary. In return, he gave me a necklace and pair of earrings, set with a diamond inside of a pearl. There is only one jeweler in the world that does that. He wrote in his letter that he wanted to give a unique gift that was "one of a kind" like his bride. According to Luke, the pearl represented classiness and elegance, and the diamond represented timeless beauty. We loved having so much meaning in everything about our wedding. It was a spectacular day!

I could go on and on about their day as well, but I'll just get on to the images. Prepare to swoon! Thank you Karis and Luke for having me play such a beautiful role on your day!
