Family Session with J. Layne Photography

Family Session with J. Layne Photography

Photos are little moments, frozen in time forever. As a photographer, it's easy to let the documentation of our lives fall to the wayside because I'm constantly documenting for others. But you can't take back time. Life flies by so quickly and once the moments pass they are gone forever. Images are treasures. These are especially dear to my heart. I love these images so much because they are a true expression of us, who we are and how we love…well, except for the fact we don't wear fancy clothes like this everyday! Eleanora wasn't too happy about being outside in the cold, she spit up all over her outfit and my elf ears are poking out! But that's what makes them authentic. It's usually when things don't work out perfectly that the most perfect moments are made. I love them even more because of it. I will always remember this time when we first became a family of three. I know I'm going to blink my eyes and Elle will be all grown up. Every time I book a session for us I'm incredibly glad I did. Letting someone else capture our seasons of life is absolutely invaluable. Just like I'm still in love with our anniversary session with my friend Lauren a while back, I know I'll hold these dear to my heart for all our years to come. I'm so thankful for my friendship with Chelsi & Justin of J. Layne Photography and for their artistic gifts. I'm blessed to know such sweet and talented people in this industry. I'm so thankful they were able to squeeze us in during one of our quick trips visiting my family. Now on to the images! Prepare to have your heart melted.

Biltmore Estate

Biltmore Estate

About this time last year, my sweet friend Ashley and I took a trip to visit the Biltmore. It was a surprise for my birthday. (I know, I lucked out in the friend department!) I realized today that I never shared those images and I wanted to remedy that immediately! It was one of those weekends that you never forget. It was the perfect time of year with the perfect friend. Cheesy, I know...but it's true. I'm so glad we took a few images before our tour of the estate. I will treasure them forever. I wish I could have taken photos inside because it was all so mesmerizing. Thanks for the trip of a lifetime Ash!

Welcome Eleanora Rose

Welcome Eleanora Rose

We are so excited to announce the arrival of our little girl, Eleanora Rose Blair. She made her grand debut on Friday, August 8th, 2014. She weighed 7 lbs 3 oz and measured 20 1/2 inches long. We are so thankful for a healthy and beautiful baby girl. She was born with a full head of hair, which made us happy! She is the most gorgeous thing we've ever seen and we're completely smitten. We are enjoying these first few days as a family of three! Thank you all for your love and prayers. If you want to see more of this sweet face, you can visit our family blog here.

Featured on 100 Layer Cakelet

Featured on 100 Layer Cakelet

I'm so incredibly honored to have my own maternity session featured on 100 Layer Cakelet today! About two weeks ago I found myself on the other side of the lens for a mini maternity session at an old Plantation on the Georgia coast. My sweet sister (and assistant) Michelle was kind enough to make this session happen so beautifully. The ridiculously heat aside, the South can be a dream. After stumbling on this location a few years ago, I knew it was the perfect backdrop to commemorate this special season of life. Maybe the next time I visit I'll have my toddling little girl with me! These make me so excited to meet my Eleanora Rose!

Celebrating 4 Years

Celebrating 4 Years

Four year have come and gone so quickly. And they've been the best four years of my life. Our love has grown so much. All the challenges and changes we've gone through have, by God's grace, only made us stronger. Marriage is truly an amazing gift. It's so easy to take my wonderful husband for granted, but he has been the greatest blessing of my life apart from Christ. That is in part because he shows me Christ. He loves, serves and leads in a way that points me to Him. Of course, he's not perfect. He does things that annoy me and I do things that annoy him. Goodness, I am definitely not anywhere close to perfect either. We're both desperately flawed. But that's the part of marriage I love so much. Two imperfect people come together in an imperfect marriage and God makes it into something beautiful. He is the Perfecter. He takes the broken and makes a masterpiece. Over the past four years, I think we've seen a tiny glimpse of that. His work in us is really just beginning. I can't wait to see what He paints through the intertwining of our lives, especially now that our two will become three.

I love you so much Jonathan! I'm so glad you chose to be committed to me four years ago. I have never once regretted choosing you. I am a lucky girl. You've exceeded everything I thought I wanted. Happy anniversary!
