Hi, I'm Jennifer Blair.
There are few things I enjoy more in life than creating art. My aim is to create as a reflection of the Creator. Thanks for stopping by my blog. Here you'll find my recent work, glimpses into my life and the inspiration behind my art.
Clare & Adam had the sweetest day last spring. Their classic love was beautifully celebrated at Fountainview Mansion's stunning grounds. It was the perfect combination of sacred, timeless and effortless. Clare & Adam chose details that enhanced the natural beauty of the spring surroundings. Their first look was one of the sweetest I've been privileged to witness. Plus, they had a cute audience watching from the mansions windows. Thank you for letting me be a part of this day you two!
Susan and Nick are a special couple and their day was no exception. The whole atmosphere felt so warm, joyous and welcoming. Their families celebrated in such a generous, sweet way. It was nothing short of incredible to be a part of. Nick and Susan had been sweethearts since high school and after many years of long distance in college decided to be together forever. Susan's mom helped create the stunning florals for the day, her sister Elizabeth did the calligraphy for the invitations and her twin sister Catherine made their wedding logo for the reception. From the details to the flow of the day, it was infused with love from family and friends. These images are just a taste of how happy and giddy these two were the whole day. I wish you both a lifetime of joy!
I have so many sweet wedding day's so share from this Spring and Summer, so I thought I'd start off with this sweet day on the outskirts of Atlanta. Savannah & Trevor have an incredibly unique chemistry - one that brings everyone into their joy. And it was a joyous day. It was that beautiful joy that radiated around everyone involved, making it not only beautiful because of the details, people and gowns, but more so because you were wrapped up with their story. It was the perfect summation of their relationship thus far, and the most incredible way to start of their new adventure. And adventurous is certainly how I'd describe them as well. They left their wedding to start a new life in San Francisco.
So, I enjoy a little peek at the story of their day today. Thank you so much for allowing me to tell a piece of your adventurous, joyous lives Savannah & Trevor!
"The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me...
He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,
to proclaim liberty to the captives...
to comfort all who mourn;
to grant to those who grieve in Zion -
to give them a crown of beauty instead of ashes,
the oil of joy instead of mourning,
a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair.
They will be called oaks of righteousness,
a planting of the Lord for the display of His splendor.
They will rebuild the ancient ruins
and restore the places long devastated;
They will renew the ruined cities
that have been devastated for generations."
(Isaiah 61)
"The Lord is my Shepherd; I shall not want.
He makes me lie down in in green pastures.
He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul.
He leads me in paths of righteousness for His name's sake.
Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow death,
I will fear no evil, for You are with me;
Your rod and your staff, they comfort me.
You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies;
You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.
Surely goodness and mercy will follow me all the days of my life,
And I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever."
- Psalm 23
I cannot believe I am finally sharing these images. My beautiful sister married the man of her dreams in March, and it was the most incredible day. So many people helped to make this one of the sweetest celebrations of marriage that I have ever witnessed. It was extra joyous, because we had such a miraculously sunny, Spring day. The forecast showed a terrible front coming through the weekend of the wedding, but by the grace of God the rain held off and we had blue skies! Helping her plan this day will remain one of the highlights of my memories with my sister. I'm so incredibly thankful to everyone who went above and beyond to make this day the perfect gift for Michelle & Paul. Their wedding day was a true representation of all that they are - lovely, bright, joyous, and most of all showed their love for Christ.
I've found myself going in a fresh, different direction this year. It is exciting and terrifying at the same time. When I consider just how many other artists there are in my field, it can be disheartening. Beautiful shots are really a dime a dozen. So I've been digging deep. What fuels my art? Surely it is more than merely capturing "beautiful moments" because beautiful moment are everywhere. I have years of experience under my belt now, but I never want to stop reaching, learning and growing at my art. For me it all comes back to vision, my lens for viewing the world and everything in it. I am an artist. It's who I am at my core. Intuitive. Seeking deeper meaning. New ideas flow constantly. Daily inspiration is a must or my soul shrivels up. I view life like poetry, like a piece of music I am working to compose...never finished, always adding another line or refrain. It dawned on me a few months ago, my visual art should represent my musical and poetic bent in more of a real way.
Matt & Alex have had quite the journey to get to their wedding day. After meeting in Chicago they had secret crushes on each other and friends for over a year. Not long after they made things official, Alex was transferred to New York but moved to Denver to be together. Since Alex's family lives in Dallas and Matt's in Denver, they decided to go for an intimate destination wedding with their closest friends and family. The 30a area has a special meaning to them since Alex's family lived there for a time as she grew up.
There is something so incredibly romantic about doing an engagement session the day before your wedding. I'm so glad I was able to sneak away to Alys Beach with Alex and Matt for a few moments before their rehearsal dinner. The days before a destination wedding is so full with friends and family coming in to celebrate, so it's nice to get away for some moments alone in the midst of festivities. It's easy to see the eager anticipation these two share about tying the knot! Thank you for allowing me to capture your love, you two!
It is such an honor to have this shoot on Style Me Pretty's front page today. It has been a dream of mine for quite some time now. Mozart once said, "Music is not the notes, but the silence between." In a way, images are the silence between moments as well. Throughout this whole editorial, I sought to encapsulate that idea, the beautiful dichotomy between movement and stillness. Colorado seemed a natural and ideal location. Nature itself is a perfect contrast between grandeur and simplicity. It is the the ultimate in-between. It is not too much of one or the other. These ideas were the basis for this shoot. The objective was to create grandness in the simplest way possible, and to express the mystery of "the silence between" in a pensive manner.
